The best left-hand golfer of the Scottish Open after 3 rounds is Australian, Richard Green on 8-under par and 2 shots behind the leaders in 3rd place. Green finished with a 1-under par, in a slightly disappointing day, which contained no blemishes, but only 1 birdie.

Phil Mickelson had a very disappointing day today, shooting an even par 71, which included 5 birdies and 5 bogey’s. Mickelson sits T24 after 3 days and 6 shots back from the leaders going into Sunday with a tournament total of 4-under par.

World Number 2 Phil Mickelson had solid day on Friday at the Scottish Open, shooting a 4-under par 67. Phil was hitting the ball well, with his main problem coming from his putter, letting go many birdie opportunities. The highlight of the day was a superb hole in 1 on the 5th hole, which never looked like missing!

Fellow Left-hander Richard Green finished day 2 with a 3-under par 68, which included 4 bogey’s on the back nine, which hopefully doesn’t prove to be the lefty’s undoing over the closing 2 days.

Phil Mickelson completed day 1 of the Scottish Open 7 shots back from the leaders, with a 71 even par. In his round, Phil had 3 bogeys and 3 Birdies. Phil opted for 5 wedges today on a course which favored the big hitters, but you really have to stick it on the fairway for a clear shot to the green.

Gareth Paddison (NZ) finished with a 1 under par 70, having 2 bogeys and 3 birdies and a great first day for the young left-hand golfer.

The best scoring left-hand golfer was Richard Green (AUS), who sits T7 after day 1 with a 4 under par, only 3 shots behind leader Thongchai Jaidee (THAI). Green had an impressive 7 birdies, 1 bogey, and a double bogey.

The weather promises heavy showers for day two of the Scottish Open.

World Number 2, and number 1 Left-hand Golfer, Phil Mickelson will head the field in the British Open warm up, when he competes in the Scottish Open today at Loch Lomond.

He will have stiff competition with a stacked field including Colin Montgomerie, Sergio Garcia and the Big Easy, South African Earnie Els, who won in 2002 in Muirfield.

Phil will hopefully be fresh for the 2 coming Golf Opens, after having a 3 week break from the PGA.

Mickelson will be keen to put behind him last years Scottish Open at Loch Lomond when he bogeyed the final hole and go on to lose in a play-off.

I will be following Phil around and post his news and scorecard at the end of each round.

Also competing today at the Scottish Open are:

Gareth Paddison (NZ)

Richard Green (AUS)

Sorry If I have missed anyone out, if you know of other left-hand golfers playing, please leave a comment. Thanks
