As if a professional golfers life isn’t busy enough, professional lefthand golfer, Mike Weir, has managed to raise $1.181,625 US dollars to help establish a Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Canada.

David Dube and Brett Wilson helped boost that amount, by paying $100,000 to caddy for Weir in a future event, which is a once in a lifetime in itself, and for a great cause, its a small price to pay to help the local kids.

Weir started his charity fund raiser on Tuesday by playing a round at the Riversdale Golf and Country Club, then onto hosting a golf clinic, before going to Griffiths Stadium for a speech.

What is it with media, it seems since Tigers early exit from the 2008 season, is it my imagination or are they going to town on Phil Mickelson, adding un-needed pressure to the world number 2.

There seems to be alot of media pressure being aimed at Phil to stand up and show the world why he is number 2. I have been hearing things such as, ‘Phi must win the British Open if he is to prove himself’. What has he to prove? He absolutely deserves to be ranked number 2 in the world. This season, he has only missed one cut, and has not finished outside the top 25 in 14 events.

I hope he can stand up and silence everyone at this years British Open, it will be a great Championship regardless of who wins. Lets pray for an actual British ’summer’ for this years open, no rain, a bit of wind would be great, but please… please, even for my own greed, let there be some actual sun in Britain this year.
