2008 British Open – Day 1 Results

Well, lets keep this short, the 2008 British Open, played at the Royal Birkdale for the ninth time tee’d off today, and it was the weather that won. Absolutely shocking weather for golf, and the scores reflected that, especially for the early starters.

After day one, Rocco Mediate, Robert Allenby and last weeks European Open winner Graeme McDowell sit on top of the leaderboard at -1 for the day.

World Number 2, and Left-hand golfer Phil Mickelson, had some of the worst conditions at midday, and had a very disappointing round of +9. Fellow US Masters winner, Mike Weir is sitting just behind the leaders on +1.

Lets hope tomorrow can bring some better conditions and better scores along with it.
